As per a scientific report published in the nature.com website, scientists claim that they’ve discovered a new organ in the human body and named it as ‘Interstitium’. It is a network of dense, connective tissues with fluid-filled compartment all over the body.
It is believed that interstitium could be significant in diagnosing and tracking disease like cancer. Prof Theise said, ‘This finding has potential to drive dramatic advances in medicine, including the possibility that the direct sampling of interstitial fluid may become a powerful diagnostic tool’.
