Top Five Tourist Attractions of Tenerife, Spain

Tenerife is the largest and highest populated city island of Spain and Canary Islands; where about five million tourist visits every year. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital City of Tenerife Island. Tenerife is one of the most tourist places of Spain that promotes tourist industry of Spain in the world tourism. In the year 2005 more than nine million tourists visited Tenerife which is really matter of greatness. In this article I’ve explained about the top five tourist attractions that are mostly observed and attracted by tourist repeatedly.

1. Dracaena draco

A famous tree which symbolizes to the Island of Tenrife is also called as Dragon Tree or Drago. The Dracaena draco is available only this Island from which looks like an umbrella that produced a scented flower in it. From its leaves one kind of reddish substance produces which the people called as Dragon’s blood. The tree can live more than three hundred years; tourists always keen to seen this unfound famous tree of Tenerife.

 

2. Teide National Park

The 189.9km² area of land is centered with famous mount Teide; which is the highest one of Spain and in the islands of Atlantic with a height of 3718mts. Established in the year 1954, the national park was announced as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the year 2007; where more than 3.5 million tourists visits annually. The park consists of some indifferent and unique flora and fauna which is rarely available in other regions of the world.

 

3. Auditorio de Tenerif

Opened in 26th September of 2003 it is an Arts complex of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The beautifully designed by building consists of symphony hall, chamber hall and galleries of port and castle; which hosts a number of musical events regularly. The building is beautifully decorated with lights which are really attractive to see during nighttime.

 

4. Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre

It is the famous museum of Tenerife situated in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Established in the year 1958, the museum consists of various objects of ancient Guanche culture and mummies. Some of the prominent features pieces here are Mummy of San Andres, Zanata Stone, Guanche Pottery, Tenerife giant rat, and other forbidden collections of Mediterranean and Aegean amphoras, thirteen Egyptian ceramics of 5700 years ago etc.

 

5. Pyramids of Güímar

The six rectangular pyramids were from the lava stone situated in the town of Güímar of Tenerife Island. Built in 19th centuries the pyramids are now opened for public in the year 1998. There is an information center situates where the visitors will get complete information about the pyramids, the volcano stones and other things.

Apart from these there are many smaller tourist spots in Tenerife Islands such as Architecture in Santa Cruz (Plaza de España), ‘Castillo de San Andrés’ the National Tourist Interest Center of Tenerife, The Botanic Gardens in Puerto de la Cruz, Masca, Playa de Las Teresitas sea beach, Traditional Canarian House etc.
