Gay Pride Parade - LGBT Event

Gay pride or pride parade is an affirmative forwarding of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people against prejudice and violence against homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia, transphobia, hetero-sexism, and mono-sexism; as well promoting LGBT’s self-affirmation and making themselves as a special group among in the society. The pride parades are observed in many countries to demonstrate their rights on same-sex marriages. Most of the pride parades occur in the month of June every year. The pride march began on 1969 after rioted due to police raid on Stonewall Inn of Greenwich of New York City.

On the early morning of June 28 1969 police raided over Stonewall Inn of Greenwich village nearby New York City; as the Inn was a gay bar and same sex people or gays were found to be entertained. The LGBT people rioted on that day; which was the first gay right movement as per the modern history. The first gay pride parade was held on 2nd November 1969 escorted by Craig Rodwell along with his partner Fred Sergeant, Ellen Broidy and Linda Rhodes at Philadelphia. Following to this, the gay activists of West Coast of the United States held a parade in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Then onwards, the June month was commemorated to Stonewall riots and many pride events held in this month by LGBT peoples.

The Gay Pride Parade held in every part of the world. Some of the famous LGBT countries are Mauritius, South Africa of Africa; China, India, Israel, Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand countries of Asia; Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, UK of Europe; Canada, United States and Greenland of North America; Argentina, Columbia, Brazil of South America; Australia, and  New Zealand of Oceania.
