Where is ‘Freedom 251’, World's Cheapest Android Mobile?

On 18th February 2016 Ringing Bells Private Limited released its first and cheapest Android Mobile Freedom 251 in India at only Rs.251/-. It would be the world’s cheapest Android mobile phone if comes to market. As per company’s report within 24-48 hours around 30,000 people from India booked this phone over internet payment gateway. After which the website crashed before the deadline of booking and company promised to provide the phone or refund the money who pre-booked the Rs. 251/- (including Rs.40/- for shipping).

Most of the Indians thought it was a part/project under ‘Make in India’ program as several govt. officers attended the opening ceremony. As the opening ceremony was huge succeed with grand cultural activities and promotion through media sources; people thought it may be a promotional or subsidy offered by govt. of India. However, it became controversy when the Android seems to be similar with Adcom Ikon 4; which actually was sold by Advantage Computers to Ringing Bells at Rs.3,600/-.

So how could a handset worth Rs.3,600/- (with features as 4” Screen qHD IPS, 1.3 GHz Quadcore Processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB Internal Memory, Rear and Front Camera) will be sold at Rs. 251 to 5million peoples. Does the company willing to grab people's money worth Rs.17.5million or will return the money/mobile in the month of June 2016; is the matter of question.
