LGBT or Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender events held in most of the nations every year. The LGBT events are related to promote and attain a position and self respect of lesbians, gays and same-sex peoples. The event basically starts with Gay Pride Parade which begins in the year 1969 due to Stonewall riots by LGBT peoples. Some of the international LGBT events are: International day of transgender visibility, which occurs March 31st of every year; Gay games, which occurs once in four year; and World Outgames.
- The Rainbow Parade Mauritius occurs every year June since 2006 at Rose Hill town of Mauritius. Other than Mauritius, in South Africa also the event occurs in different parts. Cape Town pride, Out in African film festival, and Mr. Gay South Africa are the most prominent LGBT events in South Africa.
- Since 2001 Cape Town Pride occurs; which is one of the largest gay and lesbian festivals in South Africa and Africa.
- The Out in Africa South African Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (OIA) occurs in Johannesburg, Gauteng, Cape Town, and Western Cape. It is a gay and lesbian film festival began in the year 1994 to promote the LGBT culture and life style.
- Mr. Gay South Africa is one of the famous event and competitions in South Africa; where number of gays participate and promotes this culture world widely.
- Other LGBT events in South Africa are Johannesburg Pride, Mother City Queer Costume Party, and Pink Loerie Mardi Gras.
